Hotaru Takegawa yang berusia enam tahun kehilangan arah di hutan kuno saat mengunjungi pamannya. Pada saat Hotaru Kebingungan lalu munculah lelaki bernama Gin.
Gin bukanlah manusia melainkan roh yang tinggal di hutan tersebut. Gin pun mengantarkan Hotaru menuju jalan keluar. Sejak saat itu Hotaru selalu mengunjungi hutan tersebut.
